ABOUT US
Il Timone’s mission is to deliver maritime transportation service. We dispose of a large Fireboat (50 seats) available for individual costumers or organized groups. We operate throughout the Gulf of Salerno and its main piers (Salerno, Cetara, Maiori, Amalfi and Positano). On request it is possible to stop in the most evocative spots of the Amalfi Coast to take a picture or simply enjoy the view.
Since 2020 Il Timone boats also offers direct connections from Amalfi to Positano (and vice-versa) and from Amalfi to Grotta dello Smeraldo (The Emerald Grotto).
There are two daily departures: Amalfi-Positano at 2:20 and 4:30 pm; Positano-Amalfi at 3:20 and 5:40 pm.
Il Timone does not just take you from A to B: our boats are allowed to travel closer to the coastline, so the passenger can enjoy a much better view of the natural and artificial beauties around. At the same time our crew members will give passengers an explaination of the sights, telling little-known facts about this side of the Amalfi Coast. Il Timone has two points of sale: in Agerola Bomerano, 100 meters from the starting point of the Sentiero degli Dei (The Path of the Gods) and in Amalfi, next to the port.
OUR BOATS
The ‘Raffaele’ fireboat (based in the port of Amalfi) is 12 meters long made entirely of wood like the typical local boats. It’s very well developed and ideal for any type of photo. A toilet is available on board.
The ‘Alekso’ fireboat is smaller and is allowed to cruise around the Emerald Grotto waters. It can get around the entire Amalfi coast as well. It is ideal for smaller groups (up to 28 people). More intimate. It is 10 meters long.

EXTRA
It is possible to organize events on board (for example parties), photos for marriages or enjoy the sunset from a very privileged position. Our ‘sea tour’ is a 50-minute journey (including explanation in English or Italian) of all the interesting places like the several Saracen Towers, The ‘Arch of Love’, the Bay of Conca dei Marini and the village of Ravello.
